We started Day 5 at the Australian War Memorial....oops, I just realized I mixed up some of the sites of this and New Parliament house of Day 3. That wall, with those who died in war, that was here.
What impressed many of us here was the REVERENCE the people who were visiting had for this place. In WWI, Australia had a population of 5 million...and they lost 600,000 in the war. Tim, our leader, said everyone here has lost people in wars....and so this memorial has incredible meaning for so many people.
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
From here, we headed to the Gold Creek Sheep Station. Oh my! We loved this...a 2000 acre sheep farm. Clancy impressed us all. He's a Kelpie, a dog. At the command of his owner, Kelpie went around barking and rounded up 44 sheep and put them in a pen. It was incredible. After the owner talked to us about the sheep, he carried one out and many of us took our picture with him. When he let them back out of the pen, the sheep would run through the chute, then start jumping...it was crazy. We also had lunch there...hamburgers which were enjoyed by all.
Kyle ... is he blessing the sheep?
Parting the wool so we can see how soft and clean it is.
Kendra holds up one of the sheep.
Sara E...does she look happy to be doing this?
Here Stacy had a turn...look at this sheep! He was SO incredibly docile!
We were leaving the sheep station and this would be our last ride with Brett, our coach driver.
From here we headed to the Sydney airport to fly out to Darwin.
